Kabul, 10 March 2004 (RFE/RL) -- A remote U.S. military outpost in eastern Afghanistan has been attacked with rockets and heavy machine-gun fire by unknown assailants.
Military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Bryan Hilferty today said that the outpost at Nangalam, in Kunar Province east of the capital Kabul, was attacked yesterday.
Hilferty said one Afghan civilian was wounded in the attack, but there were no U.S. casualties.
