Baghdad, 16 March 2004 (RFE/RL) -- Two Europeans and two Iraqi policemen were killed today in a drive-by shooting in Mussayab, some 70 kilometers south of Baghdad.
U.S. Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Williams said the two Europeans were Germans, but the German Embassy in Baghdad said one of those killed may be Dutch.
Elsewhere in Iraq, five people were killed in two separate shooting attacks in the past day in the northern city of Mosul.
Armed men yesterday carried out a drive-by shooting on a car carrying five U.S. civilians, killing three and injuring two. A fourth victim died while being transported to Baghdad for treatment.
Also in Mosul, police said an Iraqi woman working as a translator for the U.S. military was shot dead today.
