Madrid, 2 April 2004 (RFE/RL) -- Spanish police today found an undetonated bomb on a high-speed rail line between Madrid and Seville.
Interior Minister Angel Acebes said the discovery was made after a railway employee reported a suspicious package on a rail line about 60 kilometers south of Madrid.
The state-owned railway company stopped service in both directions to inspect the package.
Acebes said police discovered the package contained about 10 kilograms of dynamite. He said it was not clear who placed the bomb on the tracks.
A series of bombs exploded on four Madrid commuter trains on 11 March, killing 191 people.
