7 May 2004 -- Western news agencies report that assailants shot and killed a Polish and an Algerian journalist in a drive-by shooting today south of Baghdad.
An Iraqi police officer, Lieutenant Alaa Husayn, said both men worked for a Polish television station. He said another Pole was wounded in the shootings in Mahmudiyah, about 30 kilometers south of Baghdad.
