Son Of Slain Chechen President Won't Run For President

20 May 2004 -- Ramzan Kadyrvov, the son of slain Chechen President Akhmed-hadji Kadyrov, said today that he will not seek the Chechen presidency until he is 30-years old.
Ramzan Kadyrov, 27, is too young to run for the presidency according to Chechnya's Constitution.

A pro-Moscow president, Kadyrov was assassinated by a bomb blast in the Chechen capital, Grozny, on 9 May.

Ramzan, who was named deputy Chechen prime minister after his father's death, had been widely tipped in the media as a possible successor.
