Explosives Found On Eve Of NATO Meeting

27 May 2004 -- Police in the Slovak capital Bratislava say they have found two small bags filled with explosives next to a building where a NATO meeting is due to open tomorrow.
Interior Ministry spokesman Boris Azaltovic said one bag contained 500 grams of a Czechoslovak industrial explosive dating back to 1991, while the other contained an explosive apparently of Yugoslav origin.

Charges needed to ignite the explosives were also found in the bags.

Some 300 NATO parliamentary delegates are due to meet in Bratislava tomorrow, in a building next to where the explosives were discovered.

No suspects have been detained so far in the case.
