14 July 2004 -- Iran's President Mohammad Khatami said that "nothing stands in the way" of his country building and assembling centrifuges designed for uranium enrichment.
Khatami made the statement to reporters today after a cabinet meeting. Iran last month announced it would resume building centrifuges for its domestic nuclear program, despite calls by the International Atomic Energy Agency for Tehran not to do so.
Iran suspended actual uranium-enrichment operations last year and says it does not plan to restart.
