Deadly Explosion Hits Central Baghdad

11 November 2004 -- A deadly car bomb explosion rocked central Baghdad today.
There were no official casualty figures but witnesses said at least four people were killed and several others wounded. The blast set more than 10 cars on fire.

Baghdad police said the explosion hit a densely populated commercial area.

The blast came just days after interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi declared a state of emergency across most of the country and imposed a curfew in Baghdad.
