12 November 2004 -- Al-Jazeera television is reporting that Iraqi insurgents have kidnapped a U.S. citizen who worked at a Baghdad airport.
The Arabic news channel showed footage of the man in a video it said it received from a group that has previously kidnapped foreigners working with U.S. forces.
Al-Jazeera said the man was of Lebanese origin, and in the video he asked all foreign contractors to stop dealing with the company he was working for. It was uncertain whether he is the same Lebanese-American who was kidnapped by armed men from his home in Baghdad last week.
Militants seeking the departure of U.S.-led forces from Iraq have kidnapped hundreds of Iraqis and foreigners in recent months. Some have been freed while at least 35 foreigners have been killed.
