6 December 2004 -- Serbian President Boris Tadic today apologized to the victims of Serb atrocities during Bosnia's 1992-95 war, but stressed that ethnic Serbs suffered as well.
Tadic, who is in Bosnia for a three-day visit, said "individual criminals" were responsible for the crimes committed against Bosnians, and not the Serbian people.
Tadic was quick to add that Serbs also deserved an apology, because crimes were also committed against them.
Tadic is the first Serbian president to visit neighboring Bosnia since the end of the Balkan republic's war, which claimed 200,000 lives and saw the worst atrocities committed in Europe since World War II.
