Iraq Police Convoy Attacked South Of Baghdad

14 December 2004 -- Insurgents attacked an Iraqi police convoy south of Baghdad today, killing at least two police officers and wounding several others.
A Al-Basrah police spokesman, Karim al-Zaidi, said some 85 uniformed police in 10 cars were traveling from Al-Basrah to Baghdad when they were ambushed.

Iraqi security forces have come under regular attack from anti-U.S. insurgents who view them as collaborators with the U.S.-led occupation of Iraq.
