17 December 2004 -- Bosnian Serb Prime Minister Dragan Mikerevic resigned today after the international community's high representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Paddy Ashdown, fired Bosnian Serb police and officials.
Mikerevic told reporters he refuses to implement "threats and ultimatums" that he said "gravely breach" the constitution.
Ashdown fired six Serbian police and three officials yesterday. They were accused of abetting fugitives from the UN war crimes court at The Hague.
Earlier today, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said he supports the sanctions.
