Israel Says Iran Acquiring Nuclear Know-How

Iran's Kamal Kharrazi is in Berlin today for talks. (file photo) 16 February 2005 -- Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom says Iran will have the knowledge to build nuclear weapons within six months. Shalom made his remarks today to reporters during a visit to London.
He told reporters that "this is not only Israel's problem, but an international problem," because Iran's long-range missiles could reach Europe. The United States and Israel accuse Iran of pursuing a nuclear weapons program, which Iran denies.

Meanwhile, Iran's Intelligence Minister Ali Yunesi today said the United States has been using pilotless planes and satellites to spy on Iran's nuclear and military sites.

In related developments, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder today called on the United States to support European diplomatic efforts to restrict Iran's nuclear activities.

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi and his German counterpart, Joschka Fischer, are today scheduled to discuss Iran's nuclear program in Berlin.
