15 April 2005 -- Two explosions struck a district prosecutor's office in the southern Russian republic of Daghestan today, causing a fire and injuring several people.
A Daghestani medical emergencies official, Kazanfar Kurbanov, said six people were injured in the blasts.
Police spokeswoman Marina Rasulova said the explosives had been planted between the prosecutor's building and a neighboring apartment building.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts.
There have been a number of attacks on security and law-enforcement officials in recent months in Daghestan, which borders Russia's restive breakaway republic of Chechnya.
