24 May 2005 -- Abu Mus'ab al-Zarqawi, Iraq's most wanted man and leader of Al-Qaeda's group in Iraq, is reportedly wounded.
A statement posted on the Internet claiming to be from the Al-Qaeda Organization for Holy Struggle in Iraq today urged Muslims to pray for al-Zarqawi because he has been wounded.
The authenticity of the statement could not be confirmed.
Al-Zarqawi has claimed responsibility for numerous attacks in Iraq, including beheadings of foreigners. He has a price tag of $25 million on his head.
The U.S. Army said in Baghdad this evening that it has no information on the report saying al-Zarqawi has been wounded.
U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Steve Boylan, spokesman for U.S. forces in Iraq, said: "We have no information on whether
he's wounded or what the state of his health is."
He said al-Zarqawi is still America's number one target to be captured or killed. Boylan said that until that happens, the "hunt is still on."
