Police Kill Three Suspected Militants In Daghestan

28 July 2005 -- Police stormed an apartment building in the Russian republic of Daghestan today, killing three suspected militants.
Reports say two suspects escaped and two police officers were wounded in the action, which took place in the republic's capital, Makhachkala.

Daghestan, which neighbors war-ravaged Chechnya, has been hit by increasing violence believed linked to insurgents and criminal gangs.
