19 September 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiev has dismissed the country's prosecutor- general, Azimbek Beknazarov.
Presidential administration official Busurmankul Tabaldyev tells RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service that Bakiev signed a decree to that effect today.
Tabaldyev did not give a reason to explain Bakiev's decision.
Beknazarov took over as acting prosecutor-general following the 24 March ouster of President Askar Akayev. Parliament confirmed him in his duties in June.
Kyrgyzstan's AKIpress news agency says Bakiev today also dismissed Beknazarov's deputy, Nurlanbek Jeenaliyev.
Tabaldyev did not give a reason to explain Bakiev's decision.
