Four Suspected Taliban Killed In Afghan Clashes

21 September 2005 -- Four suspected Taliban fighters and three Afghan police have been killed in two separate clashes in Afghanistan's southern provinces.
Jan Mohammad Khan, the provincial governor of Uruzgan Province, says the three police were killed yesterday after militants ambushed a vehicle belonging to a district police chief. He says one of the militants was killed in an ensuing shootout.

Meanwhile, a district governor in Zabul Province, Mohammad Younis, says three suspected Taliban fighters were killed yesterday after a clash with police.
