The U.S. military jury at Fort Hood, Texas, also yesterday gave the 22-year-old England a dishonorable discharge from the U.S. Army.
England had faced up to nine years in prison following her conviction on 26 September on six counts of mistreating Abu Ghurayb prisoners.
Her sentencing concludes the last of nine courts-martials of low-level American soldiers who were charged in the Abu Ghurayb case.
During her sentencing, England apologized to coalition soldiers and detainees for her role in the abuse.
