6 November 2005 -- Reports from Tehran say Iran has formally asked Britain, France, and Germany to reopen stalled talks on its nuclear program.
Talks between the two sides broke down in August when Tehran rejected an offer of economic and political incentives
in return for scrapping sensitive nuclear fuel-making activities.
The semi-official Fars news agency says Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, wrote a letter to the ambassadors of the three European Union powers who have led talks with Tehran.
The UN's nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, passed a resolution in September saying Tehran is not in compliance with nuclear
proliferation safeguards -- which could prompt the case to be sent to the UN Security Council.
Earlier today, Iran's Foreign Ministry confirmed Tehran has allowed UN inspectors to visit the Parchin military complex to counter Western accusations that it is secretly developing nuclear arms.
At the same time, however, an official from Iran's Supreme National Security Council said today Tehran will begin
to convert new consignments of uranium at a plant near Isfahan.
