28 November 2005 -- Assailants gunned down two Sunni Arab politicians and their bodyguard in Baghdad today.
The politicians, Ali Hussein and Iyad Alizi, were members of the Iraqi Islamic Party. Alizi was one of the party's candidates for upcoming parliamentary elections.
In a separate attack, at least two British nationals of Indian origin were killed today when a bus carrying Shi'ite pilgrims came under fire in southern Baghdad. Up to four other foreigners in the bus were reported wounded in the incident.
Meanwhile, there has been no recent word of the fate of four Western aid workers -- two Canadians, a Briton, and an American -- who were reportedly kidnapped in Baghdad on 26 November.
