6 December 2005 -- Police have searched the homes of activists from the banned National Bolshevik Party (NBP), confiscating documents required to register a new political group.
Party spokesman Aleksandr Averin, said on 5 December that five computers containing up to 5,000 signatures of NBP supporters were among items taken by police when they raided the apartment of party lawyer Maksim Gassovich last week.
Nearly 50,000 signatures should have been presented today to the Justice Ministry by the NBP activists to register a new political party after the NBP was banned earlier this month by the Russian Supreme Court.
Averin accused the Russian authorities of attempting to sabotage the group's bid to form a new political party.
