No one in the images broadcast today could clearly be identified as U.S. military personnel.
A U.S. State Department official today called the new images are “disgusting” and “unfortunate.”
John Bellinger, a legal adviser to U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, spoke about the subject during a briefing in Washington.
"These additional photographs that are now out are disgusting. And it shows once again just the reprehensible conduct that was going on in Abu Ghurayb Prison. It's unfortunate, though, that the photographs are continuing to come out, because I think it simply fans the flames at a time that sentiments on these issues are raw around the world."
The earlier photographs triggered outrage over the abuse by U.S. soldiers. The abuse led to investigations and military trials for some of those accused of involvement.
