22 February 2006 -- Dubai-based Al-Arabiyah television reports that gunmen have attacked a prison in the southern Iraqi city of Al-Basrah, killing 10 inmates.
The report said the gunmen took 11 prisoners from Egypt and one from Saudi Arabia and killed 10 of them. The report could not be independently confirmed.
The station gave no further details.
