World Bank Gives Afghanistan $30 Million For Health Programs

An Afghan child receives a vaccination against polio, part of a countrywide campaign in March (file photo) (epa) March 15, 2006 -- The World Bank has approved a $30 million grant to Afghanistan to reduce child malnutrition, as well as child and maternal mortality rates.

The World Bank said some of the money will be earmarked to train Afghanistan's health workers.
