March 30, 2006 -- Iraqi police today said gunmen ambushed and killed at least eight workers from Iraq's main oil refinery in the northern city of Baiji.
In Baghdad, gunmen in speeding cars killed a police officer as he was leaving his house, while drive-by shooters killed a lawyer in the southern city of Al-Basrah.
A suicide car bomber rammed a police convoy in west Baghdad, killing one police commando and wounding three.
A dozen Iraqis were wounded in bombings and other attacks in the capital.
The U.S. military reported two deaths today.
Meanwhile, talks to form a new government remained stalled, as Iraqi politicians canceled their multiparty meetings on March 29.
