April 13, 2006 -- Twenty-six Mongolian parliamentarians walked out of parliament today in support of ongoing protests against government corruption and foreign control of natural resources.
The MPs denounced the use of force by police in clashes with demonstrators on April 13.
Protesters have been demanding greater transparency in government and that the government negotiate better terms with a Canadian mining company operating in Mongolia.
