The move comes a day after United Nations investigators interviewed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his deputy over Syria's alleged role in al-Hariri's assassination last year.

Senior Syrian and Lebanese intelligence officials have been implicated in the killing, but Syria has denied any involvement.

Meanwhile today, the United States said it will seek a UN Security Council resolution to highlight what it says is Syria's continued interference in Lebanon.
