Polio Reemerges Along Afghan Border

An Afghan child receives a polio vaccination (file photo) (epa) May 2, 2006 -- The World Health Organization says thousands of Afghan and Pakistani children will be vaccinated for polio next week as health experts try to prevent a flare-up of the crippling virus.

The UN health agency says there have been five polio cases in Afghanistan and two in Pakistan since the start of 2006.
