Marti Ahtisaari, the man leading talks on the future of Kosovo (file photo) (epa) May 5, 2006 -- UN mediators are to meet separately with Serbian and ethnic Albanian negotiators after face-to-face talks on Kosovo's future failed to ake progress.

Albert Rohan, a deputy to UN chief envoy Martti Ahtisaari, will travel to Belgrade and Prishtina later this month, while direct talks will also continue in Vienna.

Talks on the status of the Serb minority in the UN-administered province and other technical issues began in February.

Negotiators hope eventually to turn to the issue of the province's final status.
