Lukashenka Sacks Five Ministers

Belarusian President Lukashenka (file photo) (AFP) May 5, 2006 -- Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka today reshuffled his cabinet, sacking five  ministers and appointing a new deputy prime minister.

Those dismissed include the ministers of energy, communication, architecture and construction, labor, and health.


Lukashenka said the cabinet changes took place "without any political fuss or social upheaval."
