May 8, 2006 -- Reports from Iran say an explosion wounded several people today in the governor's office in the western city of Kermanshah.
The official IRNA news agency did not say what caused the blast.
However, the student ISNA news agency reports that two people were wounded when a bomb went off in the governor's office. It says a second bomb exploded minutes later in another government office.
Kermanshah, some 140 kilometers from the Iraqi border, has a large Kurdish population. Iran's Kurdish region has been hit by a wave of unrest over the past year.
Further south, the oil-rich Khuzestan province has also been hit by a wave of bombings linked to ethnic Arab separatists.
