May 24, 2006 -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki says he will present the names of his defense, interior, and national security ministers on May 27.
Al-Maliki told state-run Al-Iraqiyah television that the country's political blocs have already reached agreement on the appointments.
An Iraqi cabinet was sworn in on May 20, but those three ministries had only temporary appointees, with al-Maliki naming himself as acting interior minister.
