May 24, 2006 -- Thousands of Ukrainian trade union members gathered in Kyiv's main square today to protest an increase in gas and electricity prices.
Private consumers saw gas prices jump 25 percent this month.
Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov warned on May 23 that another 50 percent increase could be on the horizon.
