Toqaev indicated that his government would consider increasing supplies of Kazakh oil to northern Iran.
During his two-day visit, Toqaev is also expected to hold talks with the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani.

Russia's rising appetite for Central Asian gas is a direct result of the shifting fortunes of Gazprom, the state-run Russian company that controls lucrative exports.
