CIA Kept Quiet About Nazi War Criminal

The foyer of the headquarters of the CIA in Langley, Virginia (file photo) (epa) June 6, 2006 -- The CIA kept quiet about the whereabouts of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in the 1950s for fear he might expose undercover anticommunist efforts in West Germany, newly released official documents show.

In all, some 27,000 pages of documents were today released in Washington to comply with a 1999 law requiring the government to make public records related to war crimes committed by the Nazi and Japanese governments.
