Iraqi Sunni, Shi'ite Religious Sites Destroyed

The site of a Baghdad mosque destroyed in April (file photo) (epa) July 28, 2006 -- A mortar round hit a Sunni mosque in Baghdad today, killing at least four people and wounding six others.

In another incident, insurgents destroyed a Shi'ite shrine to Imam Askar in the Diyala Province.


Not far from the shrine insurgents fired on three brothers from a Shi'ite family, killing them all.


In the north of the country, near Kirkuk, at least six people were killed in attacks.
