Bomb Kills Five Near Baghdad

(RFE/RL) July 30, 2006 -- Reports say five people were killed and 11 injured today when a bomb exploded by a minibus on a highway south of Baghdad.

In a separate incident, a U.S. air strike killed four people and injured another six today in a village west of Baghdad. The U.S. military did not comment on the incident.


In further violence, an Iraqi police officer was killed when a roadside bomb struck a police patrol 70 kilometers west of Baghdad.


In a separate attack, a roadside bomb exploded near a passenger bus passing south of Baghdad, killing the driver and another civilian.
