August 3, 2006 -- Reports from Afghanistan say a suicide car bomb has killed at least 21 civilians and wounded another 13 in the southern city of Kandahar.
Regional police say the bomb was aimed at a convoy of NATO troops.
There are no reports of casualties among foreign soldiers.
The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force took command of the south of Afghanistan from the U.S.-led coalition on July 31.
