One Canadian soldier was killed and several others were injured on September 4 when they were strafed by U.S. warplanes in what NATO described as a "friendly-fire" incident during a battle against Taliban fighters in Kandahar Province.
In the capital, Kabul, one British soldier and at least four Afghan civilians were killed in a suicide car-bomb attack on September 4.
