At Least Seven Killed In Raid On Iraqi TV Station

(RFE/RL) October 12, 2006 -- Masked gunmen have raided the Baghdad offices of a new Iraqi satellite channel, killing at least seven people, including guards and other staff.
The raid took place in the eastern Zayuna district today.

The executive director of the Sha'biyah satellite station, Hassan Kamil, said the station so far had only done test broadcasts.

In other violence in Baghdad, two coordinated bomb attacks killed at least five people, including one police officer. Ten other people were wounded in the blasts.
