October 16, 2006 -- Russian police have reportedly detained three Ukrainians on suspicion of murdering the first deputy chairman of the central bank, Andrei Kozlov.
The "Kommersant" daily said that the suspects have admitted their guilt, one for killing Kozlov, another for killing his driver, the third for driving the getaway car.
The report said the police probe is focused on banks threatened with losing their licenses due to anti-corruption efforts initiated by Kozlov.
Kozlov was shot dead on September 13.
