December 11, 2006 -- The wife of Belarusian opposition leader Alyaksandr Kazulin today said that authorities at the prison where her husband is serving his sentence have barred her from visiting him unless he ends his hunger strike.
Kazulin was sentenced in July to five and a half years in prison for his role in street rallies protesting the reelection of Belarus' authoritarian president, Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
The 51-year-old Kazulin has been on hunger strike since October 20.
