Iraq Executes 13 Prisoners

(RFE/RL) December 19, 2006 -- The Iraqi government today said that it has executed 13 men convicted of murder, kidnapping, rape, torture, and other crimes.

Busho Ibrahim, undersecretary of the Justice Ministry, said the 13 were executed in a Baghdad jail.


Associated Press reported that television footage showed the men wearing hoods and standing against a wall before they were hanged.
