Al-Sadr's Group Ends Iraqi Parliament Boycott

Muqtada al-Sadr (file photo) (epa) January 21, 2007 -- The political movement of radical Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr said it would end a two-month boycott of parliament today.
The Sadrists are a key ally of Shi'ite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, but announced a boycott late last year to press their demand for a withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

The Imam al-Mahdi Army, a militia loyal to Sadr, has been identified by the United States as a main threat to security in Iraq.
