January 21, 2007 -- An earthquake measuring a magnitude of 5.0 jolted the eastern Turkish province of Agri today.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, but a regional official said several homes were demolished.
Turkish authorities said the epicenter of the tremor was at the town of Tutak, near the borders with Armenia and Iran.
The Anatolia news agency reported that panicked residents rushed to the streets.
