Cheney, Karzai Begin Talks In Kabul

President Karzai and Vice President Dick Cheney today in Kabul (epa) February 27, 2007 -- U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney has begun talks in Kabul with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

No details of the talks have been released. The two leaders were scheduled to meet on February 26, but the meeting was canceled because of heavy snowfall.


A suicide bomber today killed at least 18 people and injured many others today outside of Bagram air base, where Cheney is staying.


Cheney arrived from Pakistan, where he urged President Pervez Musharraf to increase the fight against Islamic militants.
