In the western Farah Province, a suicide car bomb targeting a U.S. and Afghan military convoy killed a local police officer and injured three others.

Near the city of Jalalabad in the eastern Nangarhar Province, Afghan and coalition forces arrested five people believed to have been transporting and hiding Al-Qaeda and other fighters.
