Iran Nobel Laureate Protests After Teachers Detained

Shirin Ebadi (epa) April 15, 2007 -- The rights group of Iranian Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi has condemned the detention of teachers who have staged public protests over low wages.
AFP reported today that the Defenders of Human Rights Center said more than a dozen teachers had been arrested in recent days, following an earlier spate of arrests in March after public demonstrations.

Most of the March detainees have now been released.
