Gunmen Kill Spokesman For Pakistani Provincial Government

(RFE/RL) July 27 -- Unidentified gunmen killed a provincial government spokesman in Pakistan's Baluchistan Province today, as the wave of violence that has swept the country since the army's assault on Islamabad's Red Mosque on July 10 continues.

Authorities said Raziq Bugti was shot dead in the city of Quetta as he was driving home.

Police said they were unsure if the killing was related to the violent backlash seen in Pakistan since the raid on the Red Mosque.
